แอนดรอยด์ (Android) เป็นระบบปฏิบัติการสำหรับโทรศัพท์มือถือ ทำงานบนลินุกซ์ เคอร์เนล พัฒนาโดยบริษัทกูเกิล และ Open Handset Alliance ทางกูเกิลได้เปิดให้นักพัฒนาสมามารถแก้ใขโค๊ตต่างๆ ด้วยภาษาจาวา และควบคุมอุปกรณ์ผ่านทางชุด Java libraries ที่กูเกิลพัฒนาขึ้น
แอนดรอยด์ได้เป็นที่รู้จักต่อสาธารณชนเมื่อวันที่ 5 พฤศจิกายน พ.ศ. 2550 โดยทางกูเกิลได้ประกาศก่อตั้ง Open Handset Alliance กลุ่มบริษัทฮาร์ดแวร์, ซอฟต์แวร์ และการสื่อสาร 48 แห่ง ที่ร่วมมือกันเพื่อพัฒนา มาตราฐานเปิด สำหรับอุปกรณ์มือถือ ลิขสิทธิ์ของโค๊ตแอนดรอยด์นี้จะใช้ในลักษณะของซอฟต์แวร์เสรี
